Adult Coaching

Are you an individual looking for additional support after receiving a diagnosis?

As a parent of two teens with exceptionalities, I get it. I have been in your shoes. I remember the panic, the tears, asking questions of people who didn’t know how to answer, trying to explain what we’d heard to friends and family and only receiving blank stares. I had no clue where to start or where to go. If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.

I offer tailored client consultations which aim to provide ongoing support to clients who have been assessed, to help navigate the diagnoses. In your sessions, you can get assistance with:

Understanding the Assessment: Julia will discuss the diagnoses with you and help you with a more in-depth look at what this means for you at home, work or post-secondary school.

Resources: You will be provided with valuable tools and strategies, books, websites, and other resources to help you on the journey to continued learning.

Community Services: Helping you learn about programs and organizations in and around the Durham Region will be beneficial in facilitating ongoing success.

Emotional Support: As a mother of two children with exceptionalities, Julia has first-hand experience of all the emotions a person might experience when trying to reconcile what this means for themselves. She can walk through this with you so you don’t feel alone on the journey.

School Advocacy: If you're currently in or transitioning into post-secondary, Julia, who is a former teacher herself, can help you navigate the school system and explain how the school may set up modifications or accommodations for you on an individualized education plan (IEP).
